Raj Shroff and his Inde Pop-Up tribe are bringing affordable designs for fashionistas with regular fashion pop-ups. Shroff put up the latest showcase at The Collection, in UB City, which featured brands like The Bombay Attic, Shruti Sanchetti and Brass Tacks. Lines from Vogue finalist Rara Avis and the Lakme Fashion Week collection from Priyadarshini Rao were also displayed at the event.
The host designer himself brought to the shelf an array of designs, anything from an oversized and collared white shirt, to frilly ethnic blouses in traditional brick red from his label Ravage. The pop-up offered both casual day wear as well as evening wear alongside each other.
“The concept is to keep the clothes trendy and non fussy. The aim to host pop-ups, is to bring together new collections, within a price bracket that one can not find elsewhere,” explains Shroff, who has organised 11 such events.
There were plenty of pleasant summer designs from the participating labels.
Although silk and chiffon are materials that one does not associate with summer, they did make an appearance at the show. “It is not about the fabric but the fact that the clothes are loose and wearable. There is a lot of mixing of silhouettes,” explains Mary, the design coordinator of The Open Trunk.
Brands like these also contribute to providing an array of designers under a single roof. The curated collection from Brass Tacks featured muted colours and thin silhouettes on silk.
Besides clothes, the platform also offered accessories from the likes of Amrapali. A few independent jewellery designers were also a part of the event. The pieces exhibited were both fun and festive.Read more at:http://www.marieprom.co.uk/graduation-gowns | http://www.marieprom.co.uk/red-carpet-dresses |
