Now that we have crossed the hump that is Old Man Winter into spring, it's time to think about starting fresh. Spring is the perfect time to get rid of old things to make way for a refreshing new season. It's kind of like a bonus new year to get on track. A great way to do this is to do some spring cleaning. I suggest you start with your closet, as that is usually a problem area for most of us. It doesn't have to be this difficult task, though, so I'm giving you some quick tips to get you started!
1. Grab a friend.
See? I told you this wouldn't be that bad. You don't have to go it alone. Cleaning out your closet is much more fun when you have the help and support of a friend. Having a good friend as the voice of reason when it's time to part with those items you are uncertain of tossing will be a tremendous help throughout the process.
2. Sort it out.
Make different piles: trash, donate, repair, consign and store. Yes, your floor will look like a big mess with all of these piles, but it is just a temporary means to an end. You'll want to throw out any items that are dirty, badly stained or have holes. Donations should be reserved for pieces that are still in good condition that can be given to friends or a charity of your choice. Things that need to be repaired and/or tailored should go to a tailor right away. The longer you let them hang around the longer they will remain taking up room in your closet unworn. If you have some fancier items then consigning them is a great way to get some cash back. Finally, if you lack closet space, store your out-of-season clothing. You need all the room you can get.
3. Get organized.
The best and most effective way to make your closet more organized is to have uniform hangers. Wooden hangers or slim fabric hangers not only look great but they will keep your clothing looking great and organized in your closet. Toss out all other hangers.
Once you've hung everything, move on to your shoes, accessories and bags. Display them in such a way that they look like merchandise in a store. It will look great and make getting ready in the morning a breeze, because you can actually see what you have right in front of you. No more crawling on your hands on knees looking for that one shoe that always seems to go missing.
4. Personalize it.
This step may be foreign to you, but it's a good one. Trust me. Make your closet a fun place to hang out! Arrange a gallery wall, install a beautiful chandelier or even add a decorative rug. By doing this you will have a space that now serves you and your wardrobe in a much more delightful way.Read more at:http://www.marieprom.co.uk/cheap-prom-dresses-uk | http://www.marieprom.co.uk/prom-dresses-2016-2017 |
